Noise
Believe it or not, this useless to some app actually is pretty useful to me. The purpose of Noise to create either pink noise, or white noise, to drown out other background sounds.
Its especially useful if you are in an office where some moron is blaring their 'hippity-hop' too damn loud, yet you can't do anything about it because there isn't a policy against it.
Given that most of us (like me) have music collections as well. The problem I face with drowning out other sounds with my music is, either I have to turn it up (which will annoy me), or I get distracted and can't concentrate because I have music running. This is where Noise plays its role.
The white noise is my favorite, because it makes me think its raining, and I love the sound of rain. I just let this app do its thing, and I'm pretty happy. In fact, at times I can't even tell that's its running because its feels like part of the background.
Noise is freeware, like the air we breathe.
